A Public Service Announcement.

Alright, Sparkies, here's the deal.

(Name that Disney Movie)

There is a darn-tootin good chance we are, in fact, moving to Ruralville.

We are not yet certain.

But it looks like it is going that way.

The new house, of which I love with all my being and hope to make  mine, has some fancy features that I am quite excited about.

Quite.

Fancy Feature #1:  Carpet

Bye-bye wood floors.

Bye-bye wood floors that constantly look dirty.

Bye-bye wood floors that constantly look dirty and show every single footprint, hair, crumb, and dust particle.

Bye-bye wood floors that constantly look dirty and show every single footprint, hair, crumb, and dust particle, and are quite easily scratched.

Wood floors are lovely and all . . .

But they have a hard time withstanding the dudes and their various forms of transportation that must be raced back and forth across the house daily.

*sigh*

Boys and wheels.

A match made in heaven.

Fancy Feature #2:  Central Vac

Truth be told, I have yet to ascertain what this feature will mean to my life, but I hear it will knock my socks off.

Fancy Feature #3:  5 bedrooms.

People!

FIVE  bedrooms.

Oh.

Be.

Still.

My.

Heart.

Fancy Feature #4:  20 acres.

Oh, this is a treat.

No longer will we live in town and look like red-neckish hillbillies because my husband insists on behaving in this manner:

Fancy Feature #5:  Geothermal Heat Pump.

You may ask,

"Taylor.  What is a geothermal heat pump?"

Well, dear readers, I don't really know.

But I know what it is not . . .

Yes, dear readers.

The Lumberjack family will no longer be using wood heat.

Has the world gone mad?

Falling trees is such a special pastime for The Lumberjack.

2009_9_07 166

It completes him.

Oh, sure . . . he will still help all his family members gather wood for the winter.

But will it be the same?

Will he still be considered . . . .

The Lumberjack?

I do not know what the future holds.

But, this I know to be truth:  I have named this blog "The Lumberjack's Wife."

How can I feign to be something I am not?

But, dudes.

It is super hard to change your blog name/address.

I know.

I did it in August.

Fun Fact:  This blog has not always been called The Lumberjack's Wife.

Crazy, I know.

But that is neither here nor there.

So . . . if the Tribal Council (that would be you) would allow, might I still retain my standing as, "The Lumberjack's Wife?"

You can take the wood heat out of the house . . .

But you can't take the Lumberjack out of my husband.

2009_9_07 164

I am anxiously awaiting your decision.

Fun Fact:  Every single one of the pictures used to craft this intriguing post were hurriedly copied and pasted from previous posts.

Because I am lazy.

Thank you.

When two worlds collide.

This post is in response to a recent comment:

Love it!  Super funny stuff--marriage is awesome!!  So, I'm curious--what does your man think about all this??  Does he care?  Does he know?  Will he be embarassed if I ask him about his cereal eating habits?  :)

1)  The Lumberjack previews about 90% of the posts before they are published.

2)  If he does not have time to read it, I ask his permission before I publish anything about him.

3)  The Lumberjack and I have a mutual teasing relationship:

He makes fun of me, tickles me, rolls his eyes at my ignorance, and gives me wedgies so bad that my underwear will rip.

And then I tell on him and blog about it.

You know . . . tit for tat.

4)  I would like everyone to know that I have an awesome husband who loves me very much and I love him.  I am thankful that God has blessed me with him.

*He works extremely hard to provide for our family

*He makes me coffee every morning

*He fills up my gas tank because I am scared of the diesel pump

*He tells me I am beautiful every day

*He washes my car

*If he knows of something I want, he will usually not rest until I get it

5)  He calls me "wife dude."  And I like it.

6)  He is very handsome and he rocks my world.

The other week at church, a lovely couple that we know, but have not seen in awhile, came up to us:

"Hey there, Lumberjack!  How are you guys?"

The Lumberjack: "Huh?"

You see, my husband's name is not Lumberjack, nor is he an actual Lumberjack.

You can understand his confusion.

Nice couple:  "Oh, we read the blog!"

Us: "Oh, right!"

chuckle, chuckle, handshake, farewell.

So, it kind of weirds both of us out when people who we did not realize read this come up to us and start talking to us about it.

It is kind of like two worlds colliding:

The Lumberjack World  and then, well, the Normal, Boring, Real World.

On a side note:

Thank you to everyone who has left a comment or let me know they read this in person.

It is encouraging to know that people are reading this and enjoying it.

And with that . . . have a lovely Friday!

A Public Service Announcement

1)  An update from the last public service announcement:  the fishing lure has been removed from the roof of the car.  It has been relocated to the compartment on the driver's side door.  Because you never know when you just might need a fishing lure.

2)  I am starting a diet with friends on Tuesday to lose weight for my trip with Sir Lumberjack in February.  This means I will be eating all the junk I can until Tuesday.  And the Lumberjack and I will be going to a dinner and a movie tomorrow night so I can be ready for the diet kick off the following morning.   And then on Tuesday, I will forever be good.  Forever and ever, scouts honor.

Raise your hand if you do not believe that statement one bit.

3)  My lovely friend, Melissa, has challenged us to post every day in November.  So, I will be posting each and every day this month.  I hope you don't get sick of me.  That would be a cryin' shame.

4)  Due to privacy issues, I am trying to refrain from using our names in posts.

The cast of characters in this blog from hereto henceforth shall be known as:

023083113_50Sweet Pea, our oldest girl, age 6

023083113_49Daisy Mae, our second girl, age 5

023083113_55Handsome Dude, our 2 year old

023083113_04Little Dude, our one year old.

Oh, don't you just want to squeeze that one?

My husband will be known as The Lumberjack, LJ, my husband, my manly man, and that guy who rocks my world.

I will be known as me, myself, and I, and occasionally mudder.

Mabel will be still be Mabel.

Because, really.

Who wants to steal her?

P.S.:  These names subject to change, as I am easily bored.

5)  Due to aforementioned name changes, I have removed many of my old posts.  I am planning on working on updating them to remove names and such.  If I come across an old post that I want to share with you from back in the days when just Melissa read my blog, I might repost it.  So be prepared for some posts from July.

6)  Please try and refrain from saying the children's names in your comments.  Or you may find your comments deleted.  Consider yourselves warned.

7)  If you don't leave comments, shame on you.  I have to post every day.  The least you could do is leave a comment.  Yes, I am talking to you, Alisa.
